UNICEF Haiti

In collaboration with #MSPP, UNICEF provides technical and financial support for the systematic collection and safe disposal of vaccine waste across health institutions nationwide, including those in Baudouin and Les Orangers within the South-Eastern Department.  These measures aim to ensure vaccine safety and reduce the risks associated with vaccine waste for health workers, patients and the environment. #foreverchild 💙

In Haiti, violence in Port-au-Prince has forced thousands to flee. In the South-East, UNICEF’s emergency protection response, through Child-Friendly Spaces and psychosocial support activities, funded by ECHO and in partnership with IBESR, has already reached 3,500 children, half of whom are displaced.  Every child deserves protection. 💙 UNICEF Latin America and Caribbean UNICEF Child Protection

During the rainy season, the risk of cholera transmission increases considerably. In response, community campaigns promoting hygiene practices as a means of preventing the disease are being maintained. In the commune of Boucan-Carré, residents have not only taken part in awareness-raising sessions but have also received nearly 800 prevention kits, providing them with essential resources to protect their health. 💉 In July 2025, 4 800 children in the Ouest Department received their vaccines. A simple act that changes lives made possible thanks to the support of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and Affaires mondiales Canada | Global Affairs Canada. Each dose is a promise of protection against preventable diseases and a step toward a healthier future for every child. #ForEveryChild, health 💙

A new attack and additional displacement sites have been added to an already long list.  On 11 September 2025, in Cabaret’s 1st Section Boucassin, approximately 2,912 people were forced to flee. Some lost their homes to fire, while others witnessed the deaths of loved ones. This cycle of violence that continues to destroy the lives of children in #Haiti must stop. Many are now without shelter, with some relying on the generosity of host families. No one should be forced to endure such conditions. #foreverchild 💙

Every day, cases of violence continue to increase, and it is children who suffer the most. Many no longer have access to school, lack food and suffer all forms of abuse. In these times of crisis and violence, children deserve our protection more than ever. 

In the face of the education crisis caused by armed violence, UNICEF is working to ensure that learning never stops: ✅ Rehabilitation of schools destroyed or used as temporary shelters  ✅ Catch-up classes and reintegration of children into host schools  ✅ Recreational activities to support children’s mental health and resilience Together with #MENFP, we are #UnitedToProtect children’s access to education across Haiti. #foreverchild 💙

The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Tom Fletcher, accompanied by Geeta Narayan, UNICEF Representative in Haiti, Geeta Narayan, conducted a visit to the OCCED’H Youth Centre to engage with displaced children and adolescents benefiting from the Centre’s vocational training programmes. The visit underscored both young people's challenging living conditions and the critical role of initiatives designed to provide them with access to education, protection, and comprehensive psychosocial support. #foreverchild 💙
